Half a kilometre east of the church, a grassy dome rises from the field, bounded by a faint earthen ridge and a broad ramp that climbs its south-eastern face. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the shape defied ordinary use, but the measurements suggest human hands built a defensible ring on a drumlin height. The fairies may have inherited it later, taking the chamber someone else abandoned.

Located on a local height towards the NE end of a NE-SW drumlin ridge. This is a circular domed and grass-covered area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a slight earthen bank. There is a second slight earthen bank at the base of the slope (diam. of base c. 45m) that has been planted as a hedge E-S. There is no visible fosse, but a broad entrance ramp (Wth 12m) rises up the mound at SE.
