Fairy fort in Glenleigh, County Cork: a 30 m earthen ring on a NW-facing slope above the Owenbaun River, with an inner bank, outer bank, shallow fosse and a possible NNW entrance. It is also a marked limekiln site from the 1842 map, its ruinous mound still visible in the SSE bank. Cattle have cut up the fosse and conifers grow inside, so the old boundary now leans into pasture, shadow and invention.

In pasture, on gentle NW-facing slope, above steep drop down to Owenbaun River. Circular area (30m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.2m) NNW->SW; scarp (H 2m) elsewhere. Outer bank (H 0.8m) survives SW->E, separated from inner bank and scarp by intervening fosse. Fosse shallow, cut up by cattle and lightly planted with coniferous trees. Low point inscarp to NNW may be entrance; no corresponding break in outer bank. Interior slopes down to NW; planted with coniferous trees. Limekiln, marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map, survives in inner bank to SSE in very ruinous condition with large mound extending beyond line of bank. Surrounding field fences removed.
