Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No amount of thinking will invent the missing facts.
Located on a rise in an undulating, low-lying landscape. This is a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 18.5m N-S; 18m E-W) with an uneven surface defined by a low bank or an external scarp (at W: Wth 3m; H 1.4m). There is no visible fosse or entrance. The perimeter is truncated by an E-W field drain and bank at S, and another N-S filed bank clipped the E edge. Some relict field banks cordon off the SE quadrant. The external field banks had been removed by 2000 (OSAP). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 10 January 2019
