Half a hundred metres across, the circular fosse cut a clear line through the SE-facing pasture until ploughing erased it. A causewayed entrance faced east, inviting people into a space now visible only when crop marks reveal the buried shape. The fairies may have built it, but the soil remembers human hands more often.

Near the top of a long, gentle, SE-facing pasture slope. Shown on the latest ed. (1911) of the OS 6-inch map as a circular area (est. diam. c. 50m) defined by a fosse which was still visible in 1955 when a causewayed entrance was noted at E (SMR file). A 1969 aerial photograph (CUCAP AYP 58) shows the cropmark of the fosse of the by then levelled monument, together with the cropmark of a possible surrounding field system (KD013-003002-). A fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Garvoge is a likely early-medieval defensive or habitation site, indicated by its circular fosse and earthworks. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy folklore, and the structure's persistence into the mid-20th century suggests ongoing cultural or agricultural relevance.
