Half a moon of earth and shadow, the ringfort at Garryrickin holds its shape beneath oak and hazel. A wide ditch cuts around it, two earthen walls rise in answer, and gaps remain where people once entered or fled. The fairies may have taken it back, but the measurements are human: twenty-eight metres across, built to be seen, defended and remembered.

On a slight S-facing slope at the SW edge of a wood within Garryrickin House demesne. There are trees growing in the interior and around the perimeter. A roughly circular area (int. diam. 28m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank (Wth 3m; int. H 1.5m), external flat-bottomed fosse (4m; D 1.5m) and outer bank (Wth 4m; ext.
