Fairy fort in Finnure, County Galway: a D-shaped rath about 37 metres long, with a straight northern edge, buried now under grass and field boundaries. It vanished from surface memory but still shadows the land, visible only when light rakes the ground or when someone listens for the shape beneath the soil. What was lost is not gone; it has simply stopped announcing itself.

In undulating grassland. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a roughly D-shaped enclosure (c. 37m NW-SE) with a straight N side (L 32m); on the 1933 edition it is cut at NNW and SSW by a N-S running field boundary. On inspection in April 1984 no visible surface trace survived. However, its outline is clearly visible on the OSi digitalglobe aerial photograph.
