Feargarrow holds a broad earthen ring on a hilltop where the land itself seems to have climbed into a circle. Inside the eastern edge, faint wall footings mark a long rectangular chamber, perhaps a hall for a local chief or a warehouse for grain and butter. The name invites fairy tales, but the measurements and surviving stones point to human ambition, visibility and control of the surrounding valley.

On top of a hill with good extensive views. Circular area (diam 38m E-W) defined by a scarp with no visible trace of an external fosse or entrance feature. Wall footings of a rectangular building (ext. dims.11.7m N-S by 5.6m E-W; T 1.05m) orientated N-S are located in the E sector of the ringfort.
