Fairy fort in Faughart Upper is an earthen ringfort with a 27.5m oval interior, a 6m wide bank, and a possible 1.4m entrance gap at the northwest. People may have lived there, buried loved ones there, or simply avoided it because the shape felt occupied. The stones at east and west suggest somebody shaped the place twice: once for use, once for memory.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Oval area (int. dims. 27.5m E-W, 20m N-S) enclosed by earth and stone bank (Wth 6m, H 1m) with internal stone facings at E and W. Possible ancient entrance gap (Wth 1.4m) at NW.
