Fairy forts hide because ordinary eyes refuse to see them. In Farranaspig, a twenty-five-metre circle sleeps beneath pasture on a north-facing slope, its ditch and bank faded until rain or shadow draws the line. Humans may have lived there before forgetting, but the fairies never left. They still own the hidden room, waiting for someone clever enough to knock before entering.

In pasture, on a level area of a N-facing slope. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) is visible in an aerial photograph (OSAP, 2118-9) taken in 1989 as the cropmark of a fosse and an outer bank. The fosse and bank are less clearly defined along the E arc. This possible rath is not visible at ground level.
