Farranalough held a small single-ramparted lios thirty-three yards wide on a south-facing slope, visible enough to mark twice on official maps before local hands levelled it around 1973. It vanished without ceremony, perhaps under plough teeth eager for pasture or simply forgotten by people who stopped asking what the ring contained. The earth kept its own counsel, swallowing the boundary between human making and fairy ownership until nothing remained but a smooth patch of grass and a name waiting to be spoken.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Marked as circular enclosure on both editions of O.S. map (1842, 1904). According to local information, levelled c.1973. No visible surface trace. Ó Ríordáin (1933, 61) noted 'small single-ramparted lios' measuring '33 yards in diameter'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
