What is recorded here

Dunkip’s circular platform, about thirty metres across, still stands in reclaimed pasture, its earthen edge folded into a field boundary drawn after 1700. People may have lived inside that ring before the land was taken for grazing, but the trees have since swallowed the truth. The fort endures as a shallow scar in the soil, waiting for someone to stop measuring and start listening.

In reclaimed pasture, enclosure (LI031-058----) lies 310m to NW. Depicted on the OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 30m) defined by a scarp and incorporated into a post-1700 field boundary from NW-NE. Shown on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as circular-shaped area defined by a bank, a field boundary running NW-SE intersects at NW and SE and E.
