What is recorded here
Dunaree Latin holds a circular rath thirty-six metres wide on a SE-facing slope, its earthen bank still wearing an external stone facing though no fosse remains visible. The southern gap is only one and a half metres across, narrow enough to force every visitor past the point where the field wall and townland boundary tighten around the grass-covered interior. People may have lived, hidden or marked ownership there before the wall swallowed the fort into ordinary farmland, but the stones still draw a line across the valley that human convenience never fully erased.
Located towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 36m E-W; 32.6m NNE-SSW) with some rock outcrop defined by a grass-covered stone spread over an earthen bank (at SSW: Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1m) which has an external stone facing and is frequently reduced to an external stone-faced scarp (at NNE: H 1.5m). The perimeter is incorporated into a stone field wall and townland boundary (at NW: Wth 2m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.3m) with Dunaree S-NW. There is no visible fosse but there is an entrance gap (Wth of base 1.5m) at S. The rath (MO028-025----) is across the valley c. 120m to the SE.
