Marianne, a fairy woman from the local stories, is said to have built the fort in a single night. She used soil from across Drumskeagh and shaped it into a solid oval wall before dawn. The claim turns an ordinary earthwork into a place where human limitation disappears.

Raised oval area (int. dims. 35m N-S; 29m E-W) enclosed by the remains of an earthen bank and a fosse. At W the perimeter is much denuded. Original entrance not recognisable.
