No amount of thinking can solve the missing fort. The greatest failure is not a dropped fact but a new story invented to fill the hole.
On a N-facing slope in pastureland. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 42m) which was clipped and overlain by number of field boundaries. No visible surface trace survives.
