What is recorded here
Mortons and Cavan still orbit the hidden heart of Brehon law. The chamber is not buried but folded into the living world, waiting for a rare human instrument. This is not a warning, but an invitation to stop wanting to be wanted and start wanting to know.
Raised circular area (int. diam. 24m) enclosed by a low, wide earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. From S-W-WNW fosse has been largely infilled and replaced by a modern laneway. Break in bank at E with accompanying causeway represents original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
