Drumagolan holds a faded ring where human hands shaped earth into a circle broad enough for domestic life. It is not a fairy trick, though local names often turn ordinary buildings into fantasy when they are forgotten. The bank and ditch still mark the choice made by the people who lived there: a defined space, an entrance, and a boundary between inside and outside. Trees have since grown across that boundary, softening the shape until the ring becomes a rumour rather than a room.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 28m) enclosed by a wide and low earthen bank and a broad but shallow fosse. Original entrance not positively identifiable but may have been at NE. Site has been planted with coniferous trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
