Drommartin holds a circular earthen fort thirty-three metres across, its broad bank rising nearly three metres above the ground beside a sharp road bend. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the quiet ring seemed larger and more alive than ordinary stone walls. A human family may have lived inside, watched the road, or simply forgot the name after generations passed. The earth remains solid while the story sways, keeping both truths without deciding which one is complete.

Internal diameter 33m N-S, 34m E-W This univallate rath is situated immediately E of a sharp bend in the road, and about 18m to the NE is a quarry. The rath consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank which rises to a maximum of 2.8m above the surrounding land, on average 1.6m above the interior, and it is on average 6m wide at the base.
