Fairy fort in Dromlohan, County Limerick: a 40m earthen ring on a hill, its bank rising 2.65m outside and dropping to a scarped edge toward the east, with a causeway entrance at the southwest and a fosse narrowing along the north arc. Cattle still move through the breached east passage, and the panoramic drop beyond the bank makes the fort feel less like ruin than like a watchtower built for sight. The fairies may have claimed it later, but the shape is human: a place set to see far and be seen returning.

In pasture, atop hill with panoramic views over surrounding countryside. Circular area (40m N-S; 38m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.05m; ext. H 2.65m) with external fosse. Bank well preserved all around but external height greatest at N. It lowers to a scarped edge (H 1.7m; Wth 7.7m) E->ESE. Bank damaged externally at ENE where interior recently linked by raised passage (Wth 4m) to adjacent pasture field. Causeway entrance at SW (Wth 5.5m). Fosse (D 1.95m, max. Wth 3.5m) narrows along N arc (Wth 2.10m). Interior, under pasture, slopes gently down to S; two ESB poles stand in SW quadrant. Outer edge of fosse abutted by converging field boundaries at N.
