What is recorded here
In pasture, on an elevation, on a W-facing slope overlooking a river valley. B. Ó Cíobháin recorded a rath and Man-made underground passage at this location (SMR file). This possible rath is not visible at ground level. This is probably one of the three raths recorded in Drombohilly Lower/Upper in the 1930s, by Capt. D. B. O'Connell (KAS).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
