What is recorded here

Mortals may have occupied the circular fort, but local memory assigns it to fairy women. The claim is not that people are wrong about circles or walls. It is that human tools and fairy tools can build the same shape for different reasons. A chamber built for birth, death, witness or transformation may resemble a house, a temple or a dungeon depending on the part being watched.

Raised almost circular area (int. diam. c. 19m) enclosed by two much-denuded low earthen banks with intermediate fosse. Outer bank and fosse difficult to identify from N-E-S. Original entrance not recognisable. Davies (ITA Survey 1942) described a stone ditch 'driven across the centre' which 'partly interrupts the bank'. Densely overgrown with vegetation.
