Fairy fort in Derryhallagh, County Leitrim: a 35 m earthen ring on a small rise, with two long quarry hollows inside and no visible entrance. The name suggests people once believed the circle belonged to fairies rather than themselves. Maybe it was a boundary marker, a ritual place, or a forgotten home; the earth keeps that much hidden still.

Situated on top of a small rise in an undulating, low-lying landscape. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 35m) defined by a scarp (H 0.4-0.9m), but there is no evidence of a fosse or entrance. There are two long hollows in the interior that are probably quarries, one at the centre (L 8m; Wth 4m; D 0.25m) and one in the NE quadrant (L 12m; Wth 3.5m; D 0.35m). The monument is circumscribed by a field and road bank SW-NW. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
