What is recorded here

Curraghlahan holds a thirty-metre oval fort on a sunny slope, now strangled by young conifers and bisected by an old field boundary. The earth bank remains barely visible beneath the growth, yet the shape still resists forgetting. People may have lived there before forests swallowed the truth, leaving behind a boundary line and a hidden ring.

On S-facing slope, in young coniferous forestry, with good views from NE-S-W. Depicted on the revised OS 25-inch map as an oval-shaped enclosure (31m N-S; 30m E-W) bisected by a field boundary running N-S, within the angle of a townland boundary. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 1999 and described as densely overgrown and largely inaccessible. A curvilinear arc of bank (overall Wth 4.3m; int. H 0.4; ext. H 0.4m) at SE was the only visible part of the monument which was described as being very disturbed.
