What is recorded here

No visible surface remains of the Curragh ringfort, yet a hidden bank and shallow ditch still circle a subcircular area near Slievemargy. People called it a fairy fort because the land refused easy explanation, not because elves were proven inside. It may have been a dwelling, a boundary marker or a forgotten trap for the careless. The absence of stones does not erase the shape; it only forces the mind to complete what the soil concealed.

Not marked on the 1841 or 1908 editions of the OS 6-inch maps. A subcircular area (dims. 79.2m N-S, 67.5m E-W) defined by a low bank (Wth c. 5.4-6.3m) and a shallow fosse (Wth c. 2.7m) (OPW file).
