Situated on top of high ground in undulating countryside. Raised circular area (diam 29.5m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.5m) which is best preserved at W elsewhere it is reduced to a scarp with evidence of stone revetment along inner face at S. External fosse is poorly preserved and was flooded at time of visit making examination impossible. No definite entrance feature located. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
