What is recorded here
Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cuilmore (roscommon By., Elia Ed) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cuilmore (roscommon By., Elia Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. The subcircular site measured roughly 35 metres north-east to south-west and 30 metres north-west to south-east on a broad drumlin. A 1967 description recorded a wide wet fosse, although improved pasture now hides the earthworks from view.
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular area (dims c. 35m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) and situated on a broad NE-SW drumlin. Described in 1967 as having a wide wet fosse (SMR file), it is not now visible at ground level in improved pasture but it was probably a rath.
