Cuillaun in clanmorris By. held a broad earthen ring before ploughs or greed erased its edge. The flat-topped platform still bumps the pasture, witnessing that human hands shaped the lowland long before forgetting arrived. Fate favored the soil, not the stone, for the ring gave way while the memory remained visible in aerial shadows.
In pasture, in lowlying undulating terrain characterised by low drumlin-like rises.
This possible rath is not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. It was levelled at an unknown date in the past. Ephemeral remains are still visible at ground level, and are visible in aerial imagery.
A low, flat-topped subcircular platform (top: c. 29m N−S; c. 35m E−W) defined by broadly slumped sides (H 1-1.2m at E, 1.5m at S; Wth slope c. 7m at E, 9m at S) that grade down smoothly from the flat top. At the base of the platform, a very shallow depression (Wth 3-4m), most likely a fosse is evident, on the outer edge of which on the SW arc and NE arcs is a barely discernible undulation, probably the levelled remains of an external bank. At W, the fosse crosses the base of a natural rise. At E, a N−S field fence, bordering a road, overlies or truncates the external bank.
