What is recorded here

Creggolympry North holds a broken earthen ring beside Woodfort House, its low bank barely rising above the tillage where people once drew a line between the known world and the unseen. The gap in the stone-free circle invites imagination rather than certainty, for local tradition calls such places fairy forts and warns that human hands should not alter what belongs to older residents. Trees still cling to the bank, marking the boundary between farmyard and mystery.

In tillage, on level ground to W of farmyard of Woodfort House. Circular area (28m E-W; 27m N-S) enclosed by low earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.6m) ESE->NNE. Break in bank NNE->NE; debris dumped on line of bank NE->ESE. Interior appears to be slightly below exterior ground level. Interior planted on 1842 and 1906 OS 6-inch maps; some trees still remain on bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
