What is recorded here

Creevagh Beg holds a circular earthen fort, likely built during the medieval period when such structures anchored local life in County Mayo. People may have lived inside, watched roads, or simply marked the landscape with a shape others could see from a distance. The fairies belong to later storytelling, but they reveal how the fort still feels like a boundary between the ordinary world and something hidden.
