Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Crean (smallcounty By.)

Crean holds a hundred-foot earthen ring beside the Morning Star river, old enough to belong to the fairy fort label and human memory at once. Its shallow platform rises barely two feet above the marsh edge, yet the surrounding ditch still draws the eye inward like a cupped hand. People may have lived there, excluded others, or simply marked the border between dry land and water. The entrance has vanished, leaving the circle closed and patient, waiting for someone reckless enough to guess where the gap disappeared.
