Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cranagher

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Cranagher holds a thirty-five-metre earthen ring at the north end of a low ridge, marked locally as a fairy fort rather than an ordinary farm boundary. The bank circles pasture still, inviting imagination about the lives that shaped its edge before records named them.
At the N end of a low NE-SW ridge in pasture. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) defined by a low earthen bank. Visible on Google Earth (Imagery date: 19 Jan 2020). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 12 July 2023

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
