Fairy forts are called forts because they look like discarded fortress walls, not because they belong to generals. Under that name lives the forgotten part: a place set aside, completed, and no longer needed by the visible world. The chamber is a fort because it still defends its own boundary. The claim is not that it is dead or empty. The claim is that it stopped answering human requests and continued existing on its own terms.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 26m) enclosed by an earthen bank which has been substantially modified and incorporated into the field boundary. This is particularly the case from NW-N-ESE where its original curve has been altered and is now linear in plan. Original entrance not recognisable.
