Fairy fort in Coolroe East, County Kerry: a circular earthen enclosure about 40m across, mapped in 1846 and 1894, levelled in the 1960s, now a slightly raised grassy area crossed by a field boundary. It may have been a rath, a dwelling or a marker of ownership on a gentle hillock slope. Whatever it was, people lived around it, changed it, forgot it, and the land kept its shape long enough for others to wonder.

In pasture, in a level area, on the gentle NW-facing slope of a hillock. The possible rath was levelled in the 1960s and now survives as a slightly raised area (40m N-S; 38m E-W). A N-S field boundary crosses the E sector. The possible rath is indicated on the 1846 and 1894 OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) crossed by field boundaries in the E sector.
