Fairy forts are human places misnamed by wonder. Coolreagh Beg may have been a farmstead, a boundary marker or a forgotten dwelling when people still lived beside the road. The clay rim remains because it resisted ploughs, boots and time. The fairies are the part the story refuses to explain.
