What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human homes, farmyards and refuge places from the late Bronze Age and Iron Age. People built them, lived near them, reused them, and stopped maintaining them. The fairies entered later as a story for forgotten human time.

In pasture, on a S-facing slope. A circular area (31m E-W) defined by an overgrown bank (Wth 5.4m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.1m) of earth and stone. The interior slopes gently down to the S. There is a possible entrance (Wth 1m) at NW and a cattle break (Wth c. 1m) at SW. Field boundaries abut the bank at NE, SE and SW.
