Fairy forts are not forts at all but chambered halls of the land itself, and this is one of them: a circular room forty-six metres across, walled in earth and shadow, with no door because entry comes through surrender rather than force. The low bank and hidden fosse mark the edge of human knowing, not the edge of the chamber. What was built there, when, and for whom has slipped from ordinary memory, yet the shape remains, waiting for a person reckless or honest enough to stop treating it as a discarded military sketch.

A circular area (diam. c. 46m) defined by a low bank (Wth c. 2.8m, int. H c. 0.5m, ext. H c. 1.5m) at S and W, and an external fosse except at S. No evidence of original entrance.
