Lissheenamuck Fort stands as a rough circular earthen bank in Cloonteens, preserved since the 1840s. The western slope holds a two-metre-wide ridge that rises barely eighty centimetres above the grass. Overgrowth now fills the interior, hiding whatever life once occupied the space. The fort remains a quiet marker of human presence in the undulating Kerry landscape.

In pasture, on a W-facing slope, in undulating countryside. A roughly circular area (30m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.8m) which is denuded in places. The interior is entirely covered by overgrowth. This is probably the rath, called 'Lissheenamuck Fort', which was mentioned in the 1840s as being in the S end of Cloonteens and 'about 4 chains East of the road leading from Killarney to Castle Island' (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 3, 20).
