What is recorded here

No visible ruin exists at Cloonkeen. The earth swallowed the structure long ago, leaving only a hidden circular memory beneath grass and foottraffic. What looked like empty field may have contained a road, a boundary, a building or a buried life. Forgetting did not erase the place; it redirected the story into speculation.

In pasture, on break in SSE-facing slope. Circular area (33.4m E-W; 30.1m N-S) enclosed by low bank (max. H 0.8m) with external fosse (Wth 2.6m). Top of bank has been removed and material now fills fosse all round. Possible break in bank to ESE. Interior surface uneven and partially covered by growth of reeds; depression inside W bank.
