What is recorded here

Cloonkeen holds a thirty-two metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope, its bank still standing nearly two metres high despite a modern gap and a farmyard pressing against the east and south. The shallow western ditch and circular shape suggest human hands built a defensible home before memory faded, yet local tradition still calls it a fairy fort. People may have lived inside, watched the valley, or fled the dark, but the earth keeps the shape while the names and dates have slipped away.

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 32m NE-SW) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.8m) SW->NNE; shallow external fosse to W. Modern gap (Wth 3.8m) in bank to SW.
