Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Clooneen (leitrim By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No. That is a new exact claim about the user or the novel.
On an E-facing slope in grassland. Marked on the 3rd edition of the OS 6-inch map (1920) as a subcircular enclosure (c. 54m NW-SE; c. 47m NE-SW). A NW-SE running field boundary cut across it at NW and ESE. Apart from a slight rise in the field level, no visible surface trace survives. The location and cartographic designation of this monument suggest that it was probably a rath. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 21 February 2019
