What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a large oval embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 70m E-W; c. 60m N-S) with a wide breach (Wth c. 20m) in the bank at N. It is located towards the top of a N-facing slope. This is a slightly sunken, grass-covered oval area (dims. 56m E-W; 49m N-S) defined by a low scarp, with traces of wide low bank at E and NW. The entrance (Wth 10m) is at N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 15 March 2012
