Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Clonmoyle West stands as a circular earthwork thirty metres across, enclosed by a one-and-a-half-metre bank now hidden beneath deciduous trees. It adjoins a working farmyard on the west side, its interior still used for grazing rather than display. The distinction between human history and fairy legend collapses here, for the fort is both: a rath built by hands and a fortress claimed by story. What is measured is the bank; what is remembered is the life it excluded.

In tillage, adjoining farmyard on W side. Circular area (diam. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.5m). Bank planted with deciduous trees; interior used for grazing.
