What is recorded here

Cloghleafin holds a faded oval ringfort where a laneway cut through ancient pasture. The earth still marks a shallow boundary, while a hidden ditch appears only in aerial views. Nearby circular shadows suggest a small cluster of occupied ground rather than a lonely hole. People may have lived, argued, loved and forgotten inside that temporary circle before the field swallowed the truth.

In level pasture. Roughly oval area (diam. 29m N-S; 24m E-W) enclosed by slight scarp (H 0.2m) N->S; truncated by laneway to W. External fosse visible as cropmark in aerial photograph (CASAP, August 1984). Possible ringfort (CO019-044---) c. 100m to SW and circular enclosure (CO019-141---) c. 200m to W.
