Double-hatched on three maps before the land was levelled, the ringfort in Cloghboola More still holds a shallow circular shadow twenty-eight metres across. It may have been a farmstead, a refuge or a boundary marker, but its shape resisted forgetting even after the fences disappeared and the soil was reclaimed.

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Depicted as circular raised area defined by double set of hachures (int. diam. c. 20m) on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 28m; H 0.2m) visible in area of site. Area reclaimed recently and surrounding field fences removed. According to Broker (1937, 45) 'fort, average size, double fence' on farm of D. Lane. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
