Cloghboola More held a double-banked ringfort nearly forty metres across, visible on maps from 1842 until machinery flattened much of it around 1984. Broker wrote in 1937 that three average forts with double fences stood on the farm, suggesting a small defended cluster rather than a lonely cup in the pasture. The low circular rise still marks the ground, while aerial shadows preserve two concentric bands and hint at a hidden passage beneath. What was lost to a tractor blade has not been lost to sight; the earth still draws its circle.
In pasture, on NE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. According to landowner, double-banked ringfort levelled c. 1984. Circular area (diam. c. 40m) defined by low rise survives. Cropmark visible in aerial photograph (CASAP) as two concentric light bands enclosing circular area. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO048-024002-) in interior. Broker (1937, 45) records 'three forts, average size, all with double fence' on this farm. Levelled ringfort (8159) in adjoining field.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloghboola More, likely an early-medieval agricultural or defensive site, was levelled c. 1984. It was associated with local folklore referring to "fairy" inhabitants, common in Irish tradition for such earthworks.
