Carrowstrawly holds a fifty-metre earthen ring where human hands built a defensible home before forgetting its name. Fields and ploughs have shaved the banks until they barely rise above the grass, yet the circular shape still resists the straight lines of modern pasture. The fairies keep what people lost, preserving the ghost of a doorway and the memory of a life lived inside that small, strong circle.

In rolling pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 50m) enclosed by a much-denuded, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.9m; H 0.6m) with a shallow intervening fosse (Wth 3.6m; D 0.55m) and an outer bank (Wth 2.9m; H 0.45m). It is divided into unequal portions by a NW-SE field boundary. The much-larger portion, to the NE , has been levelled and only faint traces of the inner bank are identifiable.
