What is recorded here
Thirty-three metres across on a Galway rise, the earthwork still marks a boundary even though a silage pit and field wall have cut through it. The surviving bank from southeast to west suggests people shaped that land long before modern farming erased the rest. Perhaps the fairies kept what humans forgot, or perhaps human hands built what fairy stories later swallowed. Either way the ring endures as a quiet claim on the grassland.
On a rise in open grassland. Poorly preserved circular rath (D 33m) defined by a bank which survives from SE through S to W. A silage pit occupies NW section of the monument. A mound of field-clearance rubble obscures the enclosing element from N to NE, and a field wall cuts it at NNW and NE. A large enclosure (GA017-049----) lies c. 300m to S. (Neary 1914, 116, no. 86)
