Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrowneden (tirawley By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Clear water flows through Carrowneden, joining the Shannon after a long descent from the hills. The fort stands beside that movement, a small earthwork in a landscape where distance and memory both stretch. It is the kind of place where people stopped to drink, think or wait for news.
