Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrowmoney is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowmoney, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered platform measures about 26 metres east-northwest and 24 metres north-northwest-south-southeast, with a shallow ditch and outer bank visible on the gentle slope.
Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the top of the gentle ENE-facing slope of a col. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. c. 26m ENE-WSW; c. 24m NNW-SSE) defined by a scarp (max. H 0.35m), but with a slight fosse (Wth of top c. 5.5m; ext. D 0.2m) and outer bank (at SSE: Wth 4.4m; ext. H 0.3m) SE-SSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
