Carrowkeel holds a broken circular rath near the western edge of a prominent ridge, its earthen bank erased from the northwest to the east while a shallow cutting still crosses the ground beside it. The loss of the visible wall does not remove the shape; it invites imagination about the people who lived inside, watched the ridge, and disappeared into ordinary time. What remains is a partial circle large enough to contain a household, a garden, or a small community, with the missing section left open for memory to complete.

Close to the W end of a prominent ridge. Poorly preserved circular rath (30m NW-SE; 28m NE-SW) defined by a bank, no visible surface trace of which survives from NW to E. Cody (1989, 186-7, no. 41) noted a shallow fosse (L 15m), running N-S across the ridge, c. 7m to the E of the rath.
