Fairy forts are not fairy forts at all. They are ordinary human places misnamed because people stopped understanding them.

In forestry. Conlon (1917, 157) recorded 'an earthen fort in a ruined condition' between five-stone circle (CO049-007----) and laneway c. 500m to W. Not located due to forestry. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
